Policy
All staff member of the district shall be employed by the School District.
Interviewing
and selection procedures shall assure that the administrator who will
be directly responsible for the work of the staff members has an opportunity
to aid in his/her selection; however, the final selection and assigment
shall be made by the superintendent.
Actions
by the Board of Education involving the assignment, promotion, transfer
or separation of administrative personnel shall be taken on the recommendations
of the superintendent.
Line and Staff Relations
Lines of direct authority shall be those approved by the Board of Education
and shown on the district organization chart. Personnel shall refer
matters requiring administrative action to the administrator to whom
they are responsible, and that administrator shall refer such matters
to the next higher administrator when appropriate.
The
established lines of authority represent direction of authority and
responsibility. When the staff is working together, the lines represent
avenues for a two-way flow of ideas to improve the program and operations
of the school system.
Professional Personnel Assignment
Teachers may be assigned to any school and to specific duties by the
superintendent, provided that the superintendent shall have regard both
for the welfare of the district and the preparation and qualifications
of the staff members.
Classified Staff
Classified personnel are secretaries, cafeteria workers, bus drivers,
custodians, maintenance, and other employees whose duties do not require
a certificate issued by the Mississippi Department of Education.
